February 20 to 24, 2000
Playa del Límite, Argentina

Originally the idea was to set the installation in Rada Tilly, a small seaside resort 15 Km. away from Comodoro Rivadavia (Chubut), where it was declared of cultural interest.

Finally, I assembled it on a nearby beach which could also easily be accessed by the people of Caleta Olivia. (Santa Cruz).

The beach was called "Playa del Limite"; the reason of its name is that it is located at the boundary between Santa Cruz and Chubut, endowed with a stunning scenic beauty that was accentuated by the absence of urbanization.

It lies between two huge hills with cliffs that descend to the sea; Route 3 that runs Patagonia descends from these hills and passes stuck to the beach.

The installation with its colorful got on this beach in the middle of the Patagonian desert a character of oasis vegetation that congregated travelers.

In fact those who came to see it were traveling from town to town and stopped to approach to it and see what it was.

Almost miraculously traditional winds of that area that blow from the west to the sea and can reach speeds of 100 Km. per hour were absent in the four days I kept the installation running. Instead of these winds I had winds blowing from the sea, these winds were constant and even.

Another important feature of this beach is the large tidal range that allowed me either to work on a beach of 1 Km. of width or on the same day having the sea touching the masts of the installation.

People said they were happy to see that the wind, so present in that area, was used to generate an artistic event.
